What We Do

Residential Programs

New Life For Youth is not just another recovery program.  We are a program focused on the  transformation of our students' lives. Through structured living, mentoring, and the development of life skills our students begin to see their lives restored in all areas.

New Life Men's Ranch

Established in 1976, The New Life For Youth Men's Ranch is a 118-acre farm in Beaverdam, Virginia with the capacity to house up to 100 students. The men's program is designed for those who are battling an addiction to alcohol, drugs or street life. The Men's Ranch is a residential-style program which challenges the students to change their lives through a full schedule of activities, spiritual development and structured living.

New Life For Youth Men's Ranch provides an opportunity for many men to continue their education, including receiving his GED.  The Men's Ranch provides vocational training to ensure that the graduates from the program are equipped to be successful, productive and dedicated men.

The Mercy House

The Carmen Torres Mercy House for Women is located in Richmond, Virginia on Broad Rock Boulevard.  Formally the "Swineford Florist," this beautiful mansion was once used for creating breathtaking bouquets of flowers. Now the building is used to transform hurting and broken women into blossoms of hope. Our women's home is a 12- to 18-month residential rehabilitation program, and the students are encouraged and taught the tools necessary to break down walls that have hindered them from becoming the women that God has called them to be. We use a one-on-one mentoring approach to counsel our students. There are numerous vocational classes available to the women in the program, including the opportunity for mothers and future mothers to participate in a certified parenting class, SCAN.

Mercy Moms House

The Mercy House successfully graduates countless young ladies into a life free from drug and alcohol addiction many of whom are mothers with young children.  Mercy Moms House meets a critical and essential need to reestablish these moms while providing additional training and resources. Women and their children formerly caught in a cycle of dysfunction and abuse can experience hope and a promising future!
